Jag has obtained a Medical Research Council funded intercalating degree (Bachelor of Science) and is both medically and dentally qualified.
He has completed his dental vocational training and has worked as a Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in both Bristol and London. He then went on to complete his Basic Surgical Training in General Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, Accident and Emergency and Urology in East London followed by his Higher Surgical Training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the West Midland rotation. He has dual membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (MFDSRCS, MRCS and FRCS) and has also completed a PhD in Oncogenomics, Transcriptomics, Tumour Models and Biomarkers at the Head and Neck Research Unit in Liverpool.
Jag is the only UK surgeon to have obtained the college (Royal College of Surgeons of England Research Fellowship), speciality (British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons/Facial Surgery Foundation-Saving Faces Research Fellowship) and faculty (Faculty of Dental Surgery, Royal College of Surgeons of England Research Fellowship) fellowships. He also completed an Interface Fellowship in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology at Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead and has an interest in Microvascular Reconstruction with Perforator Free Flaps. He has also recently completed the National Cancer Research Institute Head and Neck Clinical Studies Group Clinical Trials Fellowship.
